Try these cheesey, all natural biscuits that are loved by kids and your dog. Completely made out of human grade ingredients with zero nasties.
With the cost of living these days, we are also looking at ways still provide our dogs with treats without breaking the bank. Because we all feel like some treats from time to time. Without wanting to go out and buy ingredients to make these biscuits, I looked around the pantry and looked for some staples that could use to make some biscuits for my dogs.
You can substitute some of the ingredients I used below with anything else you may have at home, see the bottom of the page to see what you can use as a substitute to make these quick and simple cheese biscuits to keep on hand for when your dog is a good dog.
Here's what you will need:
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup of oat flour (make your own by blitzing rolled oats into flour)
- 1 1/2 cup of brown rice flour (to make these gluten free)
- 1/2 cup of cheese - tasty cheese or anything you have on hand
- 1/2 cup of parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup water
Method
Preheat oven to 170C. Combine and mix all the ingredients well until you have nice dough. You can use a kitchen aid mixer to bring it together to form the dough quickly.
Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface until its about 5mm thick. You can make these thicker if you would like a thicker biscuit, just bare in mind you will need to cook these a little longer in the oven and turn down to 160C.
You can use any cookie cutter shape or the back of a glass to shape out your biscuits. Place your cut outs onto a flat tray lined with some baking paper. It's totally fine if they are lined up close to each other as they won't rise and spread out.
Bake these biscuits for approx 20-25 minutes or until golden. Turn oven off and if you would like these to be crunchy, leave the oven door open to harden up.
Let them cool completely before putting them in an air tight container or in the fridge.
We promise your dog is going to love them! Go ahead try these for yourself too! They are soooo good.
